er night (just in case). The roads weren't bad and Liam fell asleep shortly after we left Palmer. We saw some accidents on the highway but we just took it slow and trucked along. I love my Toyota Camry, its an old car but dependable and really gets you where you need to go. We made it to Girdwood with no mishaps and Dykstra home was alive with the activity of newly opened gifts and the smell of food cooking. Julia made this great soup with roasted garlic and some kind of funky cheese that was really rich and really good. The day went on well and the snow kept falling into the night so we decided to stay. We stayed up late into the night talking and laughing, it felt good to be social and hang out. Dinner was great, the company was good and Liam loved the other kids. He really loves to watch them and is way more interested in them than adults. Brody says he hates Christmas but I think deep down he really likes it once he gets into it. He insisted on not saying Merry Christmas on the cookie plates I made for friends this year as gifts so we settled on Yuletide Greetings instead. I thought it sounded great and in my research about "Yule" I found yule logs that people bake. I want to do that next year.
Happy New Year, Darlings!! I love the blog. We miss all of you terribly. I would assume that Tippy is wearing the polar bear hat on a daily basis when he goes skiing?! I still need a photo, Mom. If I promise to tell people it is a joke, will you send me one?? I love you all and pray this will be the best year of your lives so far.
